All but one of the spots in the AL and NL Championship Series are set. The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Atlanta Braves Saturday afternoon, and in another upset, the San Diego Padres finished off the Los Angeles Dodgers. That sets an extremely surprising Phillies versus Padres NLCS.

Meanwhile, the Houston Astros outlasted the Seattle Mariners in 18 innings Saturday, completing the sweep of Seattle. The Astros await either the Guardians or Yankees. A series that can be decided by a Cleveland win Sunday, or extended to a decisive Game 5 in the Bronx with a Yankees’ victory.

Game 4: New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians, 7:07 P.M. ET – Series 2-1, Cleveland

The Yankees took Game 1 of the series in pretty subdued fashion as Gerrit Cole led New York to a 4-1 decision. The Guardians then reeled off two straight victories. A 4-2 10th-inning victory in the Bronx, followed by an even more dramatic walk-off victory Saturday night in Cleveland. It was a game that the Yankees had all but decided until a three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning resulting in a Oscar González two-run single that sent everybody home.

With that, Cleveland is only one win away from advancing to the ALCS where they would face the Astros. A loss, and a decisive Game 5 would take place in the Bronx.

The Game 4 pitching matchup is the same as the Game 1 matchup: Gerrit Cole (3.50 ERA) will face Cal Quantrill (3.38 ERA). In Game 1, Cole went 6 1/3 innings allowing only four hits, one run, and he struck out eight. Meanwhile, Quantrill lasted five innings allowing four hits (two home runs), three runs, and walked three.
