Former Met Darryl Hamilton was found dead at his home in Pearland, Texas, the apparent victim of a murder-suicide.
When officers entered the home, they found Hamilton dead near the entrance and his girlfriend Monica Jordan dead in another area of the home.
The couple’s 14-month-old was in the home at the time but the toddler was unhurt.
Police say it appears Hamilton suffered several gunshots and Jordan had a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Both bodies were transported to the Galveston County Medical Examiner for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
Hamilton, 50, played 13 seasons in the big leagues, batting .291/.360/.385 with 51 home runs and 454 RBI for the Brewers, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants, and Texas Rangers.
Lately he has been working as an analyst for the MLB Network.
