Mike Puma of the New York Post reports that Wilmer Flores is heading back to New York to get both knees examined.

It is unclear exactly how he got hurt, but he pinch-hit last night and struck out in his only at-bat. However, at this point in the season, a DL stint is not of concern as the rosters are expanded and he will almost certainly not be placed on the 10-day disabled list.

Flores, 27, is hitting .267/.319/.417 with 11 home runs and 51 RBI on the season to give him a .736 OPS and a 102 wRC+ on the year.
