Flores is still experiencing swelling after sustaining a broken nose over the weekend in Houston and will be reevaluated Thursday, the Mets announced.
Update – Sept. 3, 1:47 a.m.
Flores underwent X-rays which determined that the infielder had suffered a broken nose after fouling a ball into his face.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen it,” Mets manager Terry Collins said. “I’ve seen it off the ground, but I’ve never seen it off the bat. It’s scarier when you go out there and the blood is pouring out of your nose.”

Mets infielder Wilmer Flores exited Saturday night’s game against the Houston Astros in the fourth inning after fouling off a ball that hit him in the face.

Flores was bleeding profusely from his nose and was escorted off the field by the training staff. Jose Reyes and Travis d’Arnaud also followed him down the tunnel.
Amed Rosario replaced Flores mid at-bat and grounded into a double play.
