Shortstop Wilmer Flores is on the field doing morning drills, taking fielding practice, and appears to be walking very comfortably this morning.
Manager Terry Collins expects to have him back in the starting lineup on Thursday.

Wilmer Flores told reporters that he does not believe his bruised left foot will jeopardize his availability for opening day as he said he’ll just need a few days to recover. “I’m not worried,” Flores said. “It will just take a few days, that’s it.”
Flores fouled a ball of his foot in the third inning of Sunday’s 6-0 win over the Yankees, and was fitted with a walking boot after being removed from the game in the eighth inning.
Flores went for x-rays last night which came back negative, and he is not wearing the walking boot on Monday morning.
“I’m having problems walking right now,” Flores said. “Day by day and we’ll see.”
The Mets are calling it a bruise.

New York Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores is headed for X-rays late Sunday afternoon after fouling a ball off his left foot in the third inning of Sunday’s 6-0 win against the New York Yankees.
Flores was badly limping and wearing a walking boot as he departed Tradition Field, writes Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.
“It hurts a lot,” Flores told Marly Rivera of ESPN Deportes. MMO’s Michael Mayer told me Collins said, “He’s really hurting. Wilmer is in a lot of pain.”
The Mets already may be without starting second baseman Daniel Murphy, who strained his hamstring on Thursday and could start the season on the DL.
If this Flores injury lingers, it could mean that both Matt Reynolds and Danny Muno could break camp with the Mets.
But then again, the doors would be wide open for Ruben Tejada too.
You see… Now some of you will understand what I’ve been saying about this offseason and getting a shortstop. I kept saying I wasn’t upset about not upgrading shortstop, but I was concerned we didn’t have a better Plan B in case Flores got hurt or didn’t work out.
