The New York Mets are re-signing reliever Fernando Salas according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. The deal is for one-year and is pending a physical.

The deal is worth $3 million and Salas can earn up to $350,000 more in performance bonuses per James Wagner on Twitter.

Salas, 32 in May, was acquired by the Mets from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in exchange for minor leaguer Erik Manoah last August.

In 17 games for the Mets, Salas pitched to a 0-1 record, with a 2.08 ERA and 3.20 FIP. Salas didn’t walk a batter and struck out 19 in his 17.1 innings to close out the season with the Mets.

For Salas’ seven year big league career, the pitcher owns a  19-22 record, with a 3.64 ERA, 8.9 K/9 and a 3.53 FIP.

The Mets 40-man roster is currently full, so they will have to make a corresponding roster move once the Salas deal becomes official.
