Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Houston Astros have signed righthander Kyle Farnsworth to a major league deal.
The Mets released Farnsworth earlier in the week before his 45 day advance consent clause was set to expire, saving the team $750K for the rest of the season.
“Hopefully, I’ll find a team to play against this team,” said a very bitter Farnsworth, who didn’t hide his emotions after receiving the news.
The scrapheap reliever – turned Mets closer – posted a 3.18 ERA in 18 appearances for the team with three saves.
I figured he’d latch on somewhere, but I’m shocked he got a major league deal…
