Jeurys Familia will pitch on back-to-back days this week as he looks to return to the Mets after three months on the disabled list.

Familia will appear in the Brooklyn Cyclones’ Tuesday and Wednesday night games. He has already made two rehab appearances for the High-A St. Lucie Mets. On Saturday, he tossed a scoreless inning, striking out three and clocking a 98 mile per hour fastball. He threw another scoreless inning in a separate appearance last week.

Tests in early May revealed a blood clot in Familia’s right shoulder, which has kept him off a big league mound since May 10. In 9.1 innings with the Mets this season, he has a 3.86 ERA, 10 strikeouts, and eight walks.
