Jeurys Familia spoke to the press before today’s game and said that he expects to return from the 10-day injured list (bone spur) before Sunday’s game against the Miami Marlins.
Familia, 29, went on the IL on May 1 after he was very clearly struggling as he registered a 6.28 ERA, 5,98 FIP, and 2.023 WHIP before going down.
The Mets will certainly be hoping for a refreshed Familia when he returns to the bullpen, especially considering they gave the right-hander a three-year, $3o million contract this past offseason.
