lucas duda

With another two home run performance last night against the Phillies, Lucas Duda has crushed five home runs and collected 13 RBIs during his last three games. It’s been a tremendous run for Duda, who suddenly has a chance to reach 30 home runs in back-to-back seasons.

This seemed improbable just one week ago, but he’s been on an absolute tear of late.  He’s now up to 27 home runs and 73 RBI  on the season in 131 games.  If he can remain hot over the final days of the season, he certainly has a strong chance to pull it off.

Yesterday’s barrage was also a record setting day for Duda. It was his 7th multi-homer game of the year, which ties him for the most in Mets’ history during a single season with Dave Kingman in 1976 and and Carlos Delgado in 2008. Duda also blasted the 100th home run of his career in the 4th inning against David Buchanan.

2015 may have been an inconsistent season for Duda, but he’ finishing it off with a bang. His overall numbers are very impressive and perhaps even better than last year.  His .853  OPS this season is actually higher than last year’s mark of .830.

Duda will be a key player for the Mets’ in October, and his power will be a real game changer if he stays this locked in at the plate.
