According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the Los Angeles Dodgers have talked to the Mets about trading for infielder Asdrubal Cabrera.

The Dodgers had been rumored to be in the Manny Machado sweepstakes, but as of now are exploring other options.

Cabrera, 32, is in the final year of his contract and has been splendid.

In 84 games, he has hit 15 home runs and driven in 49 RBI, while slashing .280/.328/.479 across 354 plate appearances.

Passan notes that a few other players the Dodgers are considering are Scooter Gennett of the Cincinnati Reds, and Brian Dozier of the Minnesota Twins.
