Johan Santana delivered a masterful performance and Ike Davis blasted a three-run homer as the Mets beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-0 and handing them their seventh straight loss, .

Santana was at his crafty best and improved to 6-4, allowing just three hits in his eight scoreless innings while walking two and striking out three. In five career starts against the Dodgers, Santana is now 5-0 with a 0.50 ERA.

The offense definitely did enough today, as two doubles and subsequent sac flies had the Mets up 2-0 early through the fifth. Ike Davis put the game away in the sixth with a towering shot to CF that plated three, effectively killing whatever hope was left in that depleted Dodger dugout.  The home run came one pitch after David Wright was intentionally walked.

Parnell finished up with a scoreless ninth to give the Mets back to back shutouts and their fourth straight victory.

The Mets wrap up their series with the Dodgers with Dillon Gee going up against Clayton Kershaw in a Sunday night finale at 8:00 PM. A four game road sweep would be huge.
