After what was another exciting day in the division series round, today should bring even more drama as all four contests will be possible clinch games.

One of those teams on the brink of elimination in the American League is the New York Yankees, who have been outplayed by the Tampa Bay Rays since the bombers Game-1 win.

In the National League both of the top teams held on to win their exciting Game 2’s, setting up for potential sweeps today for the Braves and the Dodgers. Meanwhile the A’s will look to try and spoil another potential series-clinching win for the Astros.

Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins, 2:08 PM ET, Game 3 at Minute Maid Park – FS1
RHP Kyle Wright vs RHP Sixto Sanchez

The Atlanta Braves squeaked out a 2-0 Game 2 victory thanks to more power displays from the red hot Travis d’Arnaud and Dansby Swanson. Each of the pairs’ solo homers we’re the difference in the win.

Combine that with the stellar pitching performance by rookie Ian Anderson, and a great defense play by Nick Markakis late in the game — and the Marlins are staring down the barrel of elimination.

Today the Marlins will look to avoid the sweep behind rookie starter Sixto Sanchez. In his last start against the Cubs, the right-hander threw five innings of shutout ball to help the Marlins eliminate the Cubs in the wildcard round.

Oakland Athletics vs Houston Astros, 3:35 PM ET, Game 4 at Dodger Stadium – TBS
RHP Frankie Montas vs RHP Zack Greinke

Finally the A’s showed some fight against the hated Astros with a 9-7 Game 3 victory.

They handed Houston their first loss of the postseason, and look to keep the momentum going with behind starter Frankie Montas.

The righty is coming off a less than dazzling wildcard round performance against the White Sox in which he only last two innings.

The Astros will send out veteran right-hander Zack Greinke to try and close things out.

The future Hall of Famer threw four innings of one-run ball in his last start against the Minnesota Twins in the wildcard round.

Tampa Bay Rays vs New York Yankees, 7:10 PM ET, Game 4 at Petco Park – TBS
RHP Ryan Thompson vs LHP Jordan Montgomery

After dropping Game 1 to the Yankees, the Rays have won two straight thanks to the hot bat of rookie Randy Arozarena, who hit another homerun last night to help lead the Rays to a 8-4 Game 3 win.

Combine that offense with the slew of powerful arms coming out of the Rays’ bullpen, and it could mean the end of the Yankees’ 2020 championship hopes.

After a disappointing Game 3 start by Masahiro Tanaka, the Yankees will hand the ball (and the season) to Jordan Montgomery.

The left-hander will be making his first career post-season start and his first since September 24th against the Bluejays, allowing three runs and struck out eight over 5 1/3 innings.

Los Angles Dodgers vs San Diego Padres, 9:08 PM ET, Game 3 at Globe Life Field – MLBN
RHP Dustin May vs LHP Adrian Morejon

Last nights’ Game 2 win for the Dodgers was one to remember, capped off with a brilliant play by Cody Bellinger to rob a go ahead Fernando Tatis Jr. home run in the bottom of the seventh.

Starter Clayton Kershaw gutted through six innings and limiting the Padres to three runs.

Tonight the Dodgers will hand the ball to fire-baller Dustin May, who scorched the Padres in a perfect two-inning relief appearance during Game 1.

With the season on the line, the Padres will send out rookie Adrian Morejon to opening things up, and rely on their bullpen the rest of the way.
