Eno Sarris of The Athletic ranked the top 175 starting pitchers for fantasy baseball heading into the 2020 season and the Mets had representatives at the top of the rankings, in the middle and at the bottom.

Leading off at the No. 1 spot was Jacob deGrom. His placement at the top of the rankings comes as no surprise as he is the back-to-back National League Cy Young Award winner.

Despite a weaker season for his standards, Noah Syndergaard was also ranked high on the list at No. 14.

No Met was ranked again until the 49th spot which belonged to Marcus StromanSteven Matz then checked in 10 spots later at No. 59.

The Mets then had their biggest gap between starting pitchers when it came to their group of pitchers who may spend time occupying the fifth start spot and/or make spot starts when needed. Rick Porcello was ranked No. 133, Pedro Payano checked in at No. 162 and Michael Wacha was listed No. 169. All three pitchers were signed by the Mets this offseason, with Payano being signed to a minor league contract.

Porcello, Payano and Wacha will look to fill the fifth starter spot left by Zack Wheeler who joined the Philadelphia Phillies in free agency. Wheeler checked in high on the list at No. 24.
