After their respective strong 2020 seasons, Mets’ pitcher Jacob deGrom and outfielder Michael Conforto were named as finalists for the 2020 All-MLB Team. MLB Network announced the finalists for each position on Sunday night.

The All-MLB Team will be split into first and second team’s, each having one catcher, a first baseman, a second baseman, a third baseman, a shortstop a designated hitter, three outfielders, five starting pitchers and two relief pitchers.

DeGrom, 32, failed to capture his third Cy Young Award in 2020, though he still had an excellent campaign. The right-hander pitched to a 2.38 ERA, 2.26 FIP, 2.46 xFIP and 2.6 fWAR in 68 innings pitched.

Beyond just traditional stats, deGrom continued to pitch at an elite level as his whiff rate, strikeout percentage and xWOBA were at the top of the league.

Conforto, 27, clubbed nine home runs and hit .322/.412/.515 to go along with a .401 wOBA, 157 wRC+ and 2.0 fWAR in the 60 game campaign.

Notable other finalists for the All-MLB Team include former Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud, prized free agent catcher J.T. Realmuto and free agent outfielder George Springer and Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer among others.

The winners are scheduled to be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. on MLB Network.
