David Wright is making the rounds… After hitting WFAN with Francesa on Monday, today he was a guest of Mike Lupica on ESPN NY 98.7 FM.
“I think Sandy has a plan in place and I think he’s got a few tricks up his sleeve starting at the winter meetings,” Wright said.
“Everybody knew that the free-agent prices were going to be high this year with the new TV deal and things like that, Wright said.
“But I think Sandy has got a plan in place and I think he’s got a few tricks up his sleeve starting at the winter meetings.”
“Sometimes I feel the Mets fans’ pain. I experienced it the last few years on a daily basis. But have some faith because, like I said, I fully expect us to be a much better team moving forward.”

David Wright was a guest of Mike Francesa this afternoon on WFAN and is still of the belief that the Mets will make the additions to improve on the 2013 season and win more games next season.
“I am expecting us to field a much better team than we have in years past,” Wright said. “Yes there are expectations.
“I am not here to sugarcoat anything, the past three years have been ugly,” said Wright. “But I want to be part of those main reasons why we get things turned around here.”
He told Francesa that he calls Sandy Alderson often to check on the front office’s progress on trade and free agent fronts, and continues to offer his help.
“Sandy Alderson is probably tired of hearing from me, checking in to see if there is anything I can do. Obviously, for us, the off-season has started out slow.”
Wright seems to grasp the fact that the fans have waited long enough and want to see some action this offseason and just words.
He too wants to see the team drastically improve and said he wants to be remembered as the leader of a winning Mets team.
The Mets have only a short window of years left to put something together while Wright is still in his prime. He won’t be this good forever.
