Update as of 11:30 p.m.:

Steve Gelbs of SNY tweeted that Robert Gsellman will be available out of the bullpen during today’s game against the Phillies. Thus, Michael Wacha will be starting on Tuesday vs. Baltimore.

Gelbs also outlined the current status of the Mets’ rotation, included below.

Original post:

As per Mike Puma of the New York Post, left-hander David Peterson will make his return to the Mets’ disjointed rotation in Monday’s afternoon matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Peterson was recently shifted into the similarly disjointed bullpen in order to provide some temporary relief, and he did just that on Sept. 2 when he gave the Mets four scoreless innings in their 9-4 win vs. Baltimore.

On Saturday, manager Luis Rojas stated that he was not yet sure who would be bumped from the rotation – Robert Gsellman or Michael Wacha – though it’s clear that both pitchers have struggled mightily thus far. Nevertheless, one of the two will be ousted, and the other will likely be on track to make the start on Tuesday vs. the Orioles at Citi Field.
