According to Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com, Daniel Murphy’s leg injury is not serious.  Daniel Murphy is currently playing in winter ball with the Aguilas Cibaenas, and has been out with the leg injury since last tuesday.

Cibaenas GM Luichey Sanchez told ESPN’s Enrique Rojas that Murphy has “tired legs” and will be rested for 5 days.

Daniel Murphy is one the the candidates next spring to take over as the Mets starting 2nd basemen. According to the article, one of the Mets “braintrust” said that Daniel Murphy will be “very important to us next season”. This will definitely be one of the key roster battles this coming spring.
