Perhaps the hottest bat in the Mets lineup the last several weeks, outfielder Curtis Granderson was out of the lineup Sunday with hip tightness.

After the game, manager Terry Collins said that the outfielder couldn’t swing a bat and was unavailable to play.

Granderson, 36, is hitting at a .234/.331/.468 clip with 12 home runs and 34 RBI in 77 games for the Mets in 2017.

However, for the month of June, Granderson was white hot, launching eight home runs and hitting to a strong .316/.442/.711 slash line.

The 14-year veteran has been subject to many a trade rumors with the current state of the Mets and his pending free agent status, so an injury would obviously hinder his potential haul as the deadline approaches at the end of the month.

We have seen this time and time again with Mets players having their injuries downplayed, so let’s hope this isn’t the case.

And if it is, it’s important that the team doesn’t play a waiting game like they just did with Michael Conforto.

With Granderson’s status for Monday up in the air, we will keep you up-to-date with the latest news surrounding the outfielder.
