The Mets have interest in reliever Ryne Stanek, according to Mark Feinsand.

The 32-year-old has appeared out of the Houston Astros’ bullpen for the last three seasons, compiling a 2.90 ERA over 173 2/3 innings. Ten of his 23 earned runs last season came in three of his 55 appearances, and he closed out the year with a 2.75 ERA over his final 19 2/3 innings.

Stanek is a free agent for the first time this offseason, having previously played for the Rays and Marlins.

The Mets have signed nearly a dozen arms to major-league and minor-league contracts this offseason as David Stearns attempts to rehaul the team’s bullpen fully. With the top end of the reliever market moving (Josh Hader, Robert Stephenson, and others have signed deals in the last week), the Mets will likely sign another bullpen arm before spring starts.

Based on the comment section, this means Stanek will sign elsewhere in 3… 2… 1…
