Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports that right-hander Corey Oswalt will get the start on Saturday when the New York Mets play the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

The game starts at 4:10 p.m. EDT on SNY, MLBN and WOR 710.

Oswalt, 25, has a 6.62 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 6.02 FIP and only 34 strikeouts compared to 14 walks in 53 major league innings this year. Oswalt has fared better as a starter (5.36 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) than as a reliever (12.54 ERA, 1.71) for the Mets.

The second half of the season has been a struggle for Oswalt allowing hitters to post a .955 OPS in 30.2 innings after holding them to a .631 OPS in the first half.

It’s been a tough season for Oswalt that hasn’t been given a consistent role at the major league level and has been ushered to Las Vegas and back numerous times messing with his regular pitching schedule.
