He may be part of the Mets crosstown rivals, but Aaron Judge is a class act.

Pete Alonso tied Judge’s rookie home run record in Friday night’s game. In his postgame comments with the media, Judge spoke about this, and was highly complementary. He stated that “there’s no better person to share it with.”

Judge also went on to say that he’s pretty confident that Alonso will break his record over the next couple of days.

“I’m happy for him…. No better individual to represent not only the Mets, but the city of New York. He’s gonna do a lot of special things over his long career. So I’m excited for him. It’s just the beginning for him.”

There have been a lot of arguments between Mets fans and Yankees fans this season, and especially recently, regarding which player is better. Yankees fans have come out with the “the balls weren’t this juiced when Judge broke the record” argument, while Mets fans have come out with the “Yankee stadium is a little league stadium” argument. Hopefully, these comments from Judge will help put some of that to rest.

If his comments weren’t enough, there’s also Alonso, who made it known in his postgame comments to the media that he would love to get dinner with Judge sometime this offseason. Judge accepted, stating “that would be cool.’’

The two briefly met and chatted during the season.

Judge and Alonso are both too great players and the city of New York is lucky to have them both.
