Citi Field will host the 2018 NHL winter classic between the New York Ranges and Buffalo Sabres on New Years Day, the National Hockey League announced this evening.
This is the first time the league’s annual outdoor hockey game will be played at Citi Field since it became an annual event in 2011 and the second time the New York Rangers will take part.
The event has been held at numerous baseball stadiums across the country, including Fenway Park, Citizens Bank Park, and most recently Busch Stadium, which hosted it this past January.
