One of the highlights of Sunday’s 4-0 win over the Marlins was watching outfielder Chris Young blast a shot in the fifth inning that just missed being a home run as the wind drifted foul. Almost everyone thought it was gone, including the pitcher who served it up, Tom Koehler, who turned and watched and then exhaled in relief.

But on the 11th pitch of the at-bat, Young would get it right and he crushed a two-run shot into the seats in left field to score him and David Wright.

“Normally after you hit one foul, something bad happens after. You go sit in the dugout, you’re like ‘Dog, I just missed it,’ and normally it doesn’t work out like that. But I’m happy it did.”

For Young it was the second home run in four games after a slow start following his stint on the DL to open the season. “I feel like it’s starting to come together,” said Young.

“The fact that he had such a good spring and then came up with the [groin] injury early, he’s really kind of getting his feet under him with the pitching he’s got to face,’’ said manager Terry Collins. “But he’s dangerous. We know that.”

Dangerous… This whole team is dangerous lately… And I like it…
