All Star outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is not in the lineup on Thursday as the Mets begin a four game series against the Colorado Rockies.

Terry Collins told reporters that his strained right quadriceps flared up last night as he continues to battle through this injury which forced Cespedes to miss a few games earlier this month.

Cespedes, 30, informed the team that his quad was sore after Wednesday night’s game and the team believes he could be out for a few days.

Meanwhile, it now appears that shortstop Jose Reyes will not be ready to return on Friday from his Grade 1 intercostal strain that was expected to sideline him for a couple of games. Collins was hoping Reyes could return Friday but told reporters it’s now unlikely.
