The Mets were hit by a number of injuries today. The first was more information on Yoenis Cespedes.

Cespedes suffered a hamstring injury last night which the Mets said was a hamstring cramp. Mike Puma of the Post reported that it is more serious than just a cramp. While the Mets still do not believe it is serious, it would certainly behoove them to proceed with caution and he could miss the entire weekend series with the Washington Nationals.

The next was Asdrubal Cabrera. Cabrera has had a leg injury the last few days and it forced him out of the lineup for tonight’s game. Marc Carig of Newsday reported the leg issue was a hamstring.

The other injury news surrounded catcher, Travis d’Arnaud. He was initially in the lineup for the Mets but was scratched because he had trouble throwing. This would likely be linked to his wrist contusion that he suffered a two days ago.

Jacob deGrom was scratched from the start tonight and will try to go tomorrow instead. If he can’t go, Sean Gilmartin, who was promoted today would get the start.
