Cesar Puello

Cesar Puello is currently one of the hottest hitters in the Mets organization. Over his last ten games, he is hitting a very solid .364, with two home runs and nine RBI. His OPS over that ten game span is an outstanding 1.031.

Puello started off the season slow, but has really kicked things into high gear over the past couple of weeks. He is starting to live up to his reputation of once being considered a top prospect. He fell out of favor a little bit after two down years in 2011 and 2012 with St. Lucie, but he seems to be back on track, dominating Double-A pitching of late.

Puello, 22, now ranks in the Eastern League – top 15 for batting average, top ten for home runs, top ten for OPS, top ten for SLG, top ten for stolen bases, and top 15 for RBI. He is having a dominant season. Most of the production has come against left-handed pitchers who he is torching for a ridiculous .410 batting average, with four home runs and a 1.260 OPS.

If Puello keeps up this level of performance, he is going to be moving up the Mets top prospect charts, and pushing for a promotion to Triple-A very soon. He could be the exact combination of speed and power the Mets are looking for in the outfield.
