The Scottsdale Scorpions won their third game in a row on Wednesday as they defeated the Surprise Saguaros 6-5.

Gavin Cecchini got the start at short and went 2 for 4 with two runs scored in the victory. Cecchini helped the Scorpions with a single and a run scored in the first as the Scorpions scored four. In the last two games, the Scorpions have 14 runs combined in the first inning.

After grounding in a double play in the second, Cecchini singled and scored again in the fifth. Cecchini raised his slash line to .286/.362/.429 in the Arizona Fall League over 49 at-bats.

The only other Mets player in the starting line-up was Tim Tebow. Tebow went 0-3 in the win, he reached on an error in the fourth and lined out in the sixth. Tebow is now 7 for 48 with 13 strikeouts and four walks in the AFL.

On the pitching side the Scorpions gave the ball to Corey Oswalt to start. Oswalt struggled in the first allowing three runs and getting out of the inning thanks to an outfield assist. After the three-run first Oswalt did not allow a run in his next three innings. Overall, Oswalt went four innings allowing three runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out three as his ERA increased to 3.68. Oswalt got the win improving to 3-1 in the AFL.

David Roseboom shined out of the pen as he struck out the side in the eighth. Roseboom lowered his ERA to 0.93 and has now struck out 15 in 9.2 innings pitched in the AFL.

On Thursday, the Scorpions have an early game as they will play the Javelinas at 2:35pm ET.
