One of the big question marks heading into next season for the Mets is first base. Without dwelling on who could have or should have been there, let’s take a look at how New York can move forward. Internal Options Jared Young hit nine homers in 103 games and posted a .759 OPS in his first year with significant MLB playing time. But he is 31 and likely best suited for a bench or platoon...
The Mets have made many moves over the last three seasons, some good, some bad, some too early to tell, and everything in-between. There seems to be a movement on Mets social media platforms to give every success to Steve Cohen and every failure to David Stearns which is obviously ridiculous. Some players see their credit switch back and forth depending on how they are performing. Stearns is the...

Tim Britton of the Athletic recently released an article analyzing the New York Mets’ front office and the organizations struggles. In his article he noted how three years in this still is not fully David Stearn’s front office. A large number of senior staff predate him. In the article, Britton wrote, “First, owing to the executive churn that preceded Stearns, the Mets’ front...
“While he clears the offensive bar at catcher, Alvarez has work to do behind the plate. He receives well and has an average arm he used to throw out 29% of 108 minor league base stealers.” “With time, he has the potential to develop into a near-average defensive catcher,” Baseball America, 2023 “He’s not a particularly good catcher, though.” “There are...
The New York Mets do not have the deepest record books, which means that we could see some of the current Mets go on to break some of those records. Let’s take a look which are at most risk. Hits – David Wright – 1,777 As is the case for many offensive categories, the Mets’ hit leader record is not one of the largest in MLB. Only four teams have a smaller record. Even the...
The Mets 2026 season summed up in one word? Disappointing. We don’t want to dwell on it, but we need to talk about it at least once, right? Get it all out of our system? Here’s what we think were the three biggest disappointments from this past season. Robert Colonna The biggest disappointment from this season has to be Jorge Polanco. I was very excited for him and thought he was the...

The New York Mets have had seen many players leave the organization either through free agency or trade and many went on to perform well in other organizations. Contradictory to what many say, players have also left the organization and performed poorly. In that spirit, let’s breakdown five players the Mets should have held on to and five they should have let go. Players in this exercise...
The Mets have hired Derek Falvey in the front office as a senior advisor to president of baseball operations David Stearns. (They also promoted Kris Gross to the role of assistant general manager.) So who is he, what is was his style as president of baseball operations of the Twins, and what does a senior advisor do? What Does a Senior Advisor Do? A senior advisor is a high-level in-house...
The Mets have two clear candidates for rookie of the year in Carson Benge and Nolan McLean. As much as I would love to say that the Mets will dominate all the placings in the ROTY ballot, JJ Wetherholt, Sal Stewart and TJ Rumfield will be their true competition. I will start by breaking down Benge and McLean and then give flowers to the other Mets rookies. The Mets Rookie of the Year Contenders...
