Carlos Gomez will be returning to the Texas Rangers on a one-year, $11.5 million deal, reports Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

Gomez, once a Met and almost a Met again, had a fantastic end to the 2016 season with the Rangers after struggling in Houston. Gomez was dealt to the Astros in 2015 after the infamous Brewers-Mets deal fell through. He slashed just .221/.277/.342 in 126 games with there before being dealt to the Rangers in August.

Gomez got red-hot as soon as he arrived in Arlington, recovering some of his value on the free agent market. In 33 games, the outfielder hit .284/.362/.543 with eight home runs and five stolen bases, helping the Rangers run away with the AL West title.
