Former Met Carlos Beltran has been hired as a Game Analyst by YES Network for the 2022 season, fellow YES analyst Jack Curry reported.

Beltrán, who played for the Yankees from 2014-2016, will work 36 games in the upcoming seasons. The number represents the uniform number Beltran wore during his 2+ seasons in the Bronx.

While his time with the Yankees occurred at the tail end of his major league career, he put together a respectable resume in the pinstripes. After hitting 15 home runs in his first season with the Yankees, Beltrán increased that number to 19 the following season, followed by 22 home runs in 2016 before being dealt to the Texas Rangers.

The move is a major win for Beltrán after he quickly lost his Mets managerial job in early 2020, when his role in the Astros sign stealing controversy became public.

Beltrán will lead the new entrants to the 2023 Baseball Hall of Fame ballot next offseason.

As a Mets player, Beltrán had his best season in Queens in 2006, blasting 41 home runs, while leading the Mets to an NLCS appearance.
