Mets’ outfielder Jay Bruce has been working his way back from a hip injury he sustained last month, but was recently shutdown due to a recurrence of the issue.

Bruce, 31, is currently in day No. 2 of a 10-day shutdown period, after which he will be reevaluated.

The Texas native signed on with the Mets on a three-year deal this past winter and the results haven’t been there.

At the dish, he hit just .212/.292/.321 with three homers and 17 RBI. He has also been worth -1.0 bWAR so far.
