After the Mets 10-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, manager Carlos Mendoza provided some clarity on reliever Brooks Raley’s injury. Mendoza confirmed Raley’s MRI showed no structural damage and he is only expected to miss the 15-days he is slated to spend on the injured list.

This is good news for the Mets as they continue their West Coast road trip tomorrow in San Francisco.

Prior to Sunday’s first pitch in Los Angeles, the New York Mets announced that left-handed reliever Brooks Raley has been placed on the 15-day injured list with elbow inflammation.

Raley has appeared in eight games this season, tossing seven scoreless innings from the bullpen. He’s only allowed two hits and has struck out nine. Raley has served primarily as one of the two key arms, along with Adam Ottavino, to get to Edwin Díaz in the ninth inning.

In a corresponding move, the Mets recalled right-handed reliever Grant Hartwig from Triple-A Syracuse. Hartwig has a scoreless inning in the majors this year, he has also allowed four runs across six Triple-A innings. He has a 4.71 and 4.41 major-league ERA and FIP, respectively, overall in his career.

Jake Diekman is now the only left-handed pitcher in the Mets’ bullpen with Raley going down due to injury.
