The Milwaukee Brewers are showing interest in New York Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

The Brewers recently called up top prospect Lewis Brinson to play center field and they have Domingo Santana in right field with Ryan Braun in left field.

The veteran Granderson will be a free agent after the season.

According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the New York Mets would prefer to trade outfielder Curtis Granderson and keep outfield Jay Bruce with the intention of giving him a qualifying offer this offseason.

Both Granderson and Bruce are free agents after the season, and have been mentioned as players on the trading block for the Mets with the trade deadline less than two weeks away.

Bruce, 30, is having one of the best offensive seasons of his career with a .266/.332/.529 slash line to go along with 24 home runs and 63 RBI.

Maybe the bigger surprise for from Bruce this year is the improved defense he has shown in right field. In 81 games, he’s posted has three defensive runs saved while showing solid range (1.0 UZR) and a better arm than last season.

Granderson, 36, has bounced back after a rough start to improve his line to .228/.329/.463 in 313 plate appearances.
