Dominican Winter League

Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio impressed yet again on Thursday night in the second day of action in the Dominican Winter League.

Mauricio went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored after hitting a home run in his first game of the winter ball season.

Arizona Fall League

Several Mets prospects saw action on Thursday in a tough 8-7 loss that saw Salt River blow a 7-4 lead in the bottom of the ninth.

  • 3B Brett Baty: 1-5, HR, 3 K, .256 AVG/844 OPS
  • C Hayden Senger: 0-4, BB, 2 K, .176 AVG/599 OPS
  • SS Wilmer Reyes: 0-4, K, .207 AVG/689 OPS

Baty hit his first home run of the AFL. It was a go-ahead two-run shot that put the Rafters up 5-4.

Senger and Reyes also started, going a combined 0-for-8. Defensively, Reyes made a fielding error and Baty made a throwing error.

Grey and Holderman struggled while Bryant and Metoyer combined for three scoreless innings in middle relief.

Holderman tried to get a three out save in the bottom of the ninth with Salt River leading 7-4. He got the first two outs before he gave up any runs, but he gave up a game-tying three run single to Yankees prospect Austin Wells.

He was then removed from from the game, but Salt River’s next reliver allowed Holderman’s runner to score the winning run.
