The Salt River Rafters fell to 7-17 after they lost to the Mesa Solar Sox in a 15-10 slug fest. Brian Metoyer was the only Mets player who pitched for Salt River, getting four outs without allowing any runs.

Metoyer also hit two batters and balked.
For the offense, Brett Baty started at third base and batted fifth. He had another impressive performance at the plate.

Baty’s three singles included two grounders, one to centerfield and one to right. His third was an RBI line drive to right field that also saw him advance to second base on the throw.
Baty’s run scoring hit cut Mesa’s lead to 13-10 in the bottom of the eighth inning. His other two plate appearances included a walk and a strikeout.
Defensively, Baty handled all three defensive chances he got without making any errors. All three chances were grounders, one of which was a 5-4 fielder’s choice.
