According to a tweet by Kevin Burkardt: Reyes has a tear in his right hamstring tendon. Add SS to the list of Mets needs.

Wow, I hate to say it, but the Mets have done it again, and again, and again…

More to come on this…

Adam Rubin confirms ;

Jose Reyes has a small tear of his right hamstring tendon, the team said in a statement Thursday night. Team doctor Struan Coleman advised Reyes to rest for two days, then resume treatment. Clearly, Reyes will not return very soon.

Bart Hubbuch of the NY Post adds:

Reyes will rest for two days, then be re-evaluated. Probably out until All-Star break.

The Mets official statement:

“Jose Reyes today was examined by Mets team physician Dr. Struan Coleman and subsequently underwent an MRI at New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery. The MRI revealed a small tear in his right hamstring tendon, a new injury. Reyes will rest for two days and then resume treatment.”
