The Syracuse Mets announced on Thursday that outfielder Brandon Nimmo will begin his rehab assignment with the team on Thursday night in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Nimmo will bat leadoff and play center field for Syracuse as he works his way back from a bone bruise in his left finger. He was hitting .319/.430/.439 before landing on the injured list. He is eligible to return on Friday.

The game starts at 6:35 p.m. ET and can be watched on MiLB tv. Left-hander Thomas Szapucki is on the mound for Syracuse against former Met lefty Stephen Gonsalves.
