The San Fransisco Giants have extended shortstop Brandon Crawford‘s contract through the 2021 season with a 6-year, $75 million contract.

The 28 year old Crawford had an all-around fantastic season as he was an All Star, as well as a recipient of both the Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards for National League shortstops.

Crawford slashed .256/.321/.462 in 2015, crushing 21 home runs and 33 doubles while driving in 84 runs. He also hit four triples and stole six bases while providing stellar defense for the Giants.

Most of his 2015 numbers were on par with his career, with the exception of his power statistics. In four previous seasons, he had never hit more than 10 home runs (2014) or 26 doubles (2012). This helped him set a career high in slugging percentage, blowing past his previous mark of .389 set last season.
