Brandon Allen has some surprising power in his bat. This kid has hit a pair of towering home runs in his short and nondescript career.
The first was a 435 foot home run at Yankee Stadium, and the second was this mammoth blast at Chase Field off Yovani Gallardo. It was the longest home run ever hit to right field.

The Mets announced via Twitter that that have signed Brandon Allen to a minor-league deal with an invite to spring training.
Originally drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 2004, the 27-year-old first baseman spent all of 2013 at Triple-A for San Diego and the Mets will be his sixth organization.
In 116 major league games between 2009-2012, Allen has batted .203/.290/.375 OBP in 389 plate appearances with 12 home runs and 41 RBI.
The Mets have a glut of first basemen so it’s quite certain that Allen will hold down the fort at Area 51.
