Just a day after the New York Mets returned former Rule 5 pick back to the Toronto Blue Jays after clearing waivers, the Jays dealt Brad Emaus to the Colorado Rockies.
In exchange the Blue Jays will receive pitcher Chris Malone and a player to be named later or cash.

According to Adam Rubin, a team insider told him that the mets will make no attempt to try and work out a trade for Brad Emaus even if he were to pass through waivers.
Brad Emaus’ days with the Mets — in the majors or minors — appear done.
Emaus, as a Rule 5 pick, is currently on waivers. If another team claims him, that organization would assume responsibility for keeping Emaus on the major league roster for the remainder of the season.
The more likely scenario is Emaus clears waivers and is offered back to his former club, the Toronto Blue Jays, for $25,000 — half the price the Mets paid to draft him.
At that point, the Mets could work out a trade with Toronto in order to keep Emaus and place him in the minors. However, a team insider said it’s “unlikely” the Mets would try to retain Emaus.

DESIGNATE INFIELDER BRAD EMAUS FOR ASSIGNMENT
FLUSHING, N.Y., April 19, 2011 – The New York Mets today announced that they have recalled infielder Justin Turner from Buffalo (AAA) of the International League and designated infielder Brad Emaus for assignment. Turner will wear uniform #2 and will be available for tonight’s 7:10 p.m. game vs. Houston.
Turner, 26, was hitting .300 (12-40) with six runs scored, three doubles, two triples and two RBI in 10 games with the Bisons this season.
The 6-0, 208-pounder went 1-8 (.125) with a double in four games with the Mets last July. He batted .333 (104-312) with 22 doubles, 11 home runs and 35 RBI in 78 games last season with Buffalo after he was claimed off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles on May 25, 2010. Turner also appeared in five games with the Orioles last year, going hitless in nine at-bats.
Turner batted .231 (9-39) with two doubles and five RBI in 19 games this spring.
Emaus was hitting .162 (6-37) with one RBI in 14 games with the Mets this year.
