Jim Bowden of the Athletic spoke with executives around the league to come up with a post-trade deadline farm system ranking for all 30 MLB teams.

The Mets were ranked 26th in the game in this regard, with the biggest reasoning being that the team does not have much depth beyond their top prospects.

In the article, he points out that Andres Gimenez is one of the best shortstop prospects in the game while Justin Dunn and Peter Alonso could both join the club next season.

Bowden points to Alonso being a 30 homer, 100 RBI type of hitter in the middle of the order, but notes that questions about his defense still remain, which could lead to him ultimately being traded to an American League club to DH.

However, Alonso did just win Organizational Defensive Player of the Month in July, so he is at the very least improving at the position and working hard to continue to do so.

Rival executives also raved about the talent that both Ronny Mauricio and Jarred Kelenic possess, who are both currently at Kingsport.

Franklyn Kilome, who was acquired in the Asdrubal Cabrera deal with the Philadelphia Phillies in July, rounds out their top-six prospects listed on the site.

Prior to the MLB Trade Deadline, the Mets also acquired reliever Bobby Wahl (currently in the majors), third baseman William Toffey (currently at Double-A Binghamton), and $1 million in International Bonus Pool Money, in exchange for Jeurys Familia

It is worth noting that this list is inconsistent with that of Baseball America, who earlier this month rated the Mets 19th in all of baseball in this regard, as they noted Anthony Kay and David Peterson as other names to watch out for in the system.

Coming into the season, though, Baseball America had rated the Mets system more in line with them at #27.

As of now, the Mets currently have four players MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects List. Those players are Gimenez (59th), Alonso (63rd), Kelenic (67th), and Dunn (97th).
