Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports that the Toronto Blue Jays have signed Joe Panik to a minor league deal with an invitation to Spring Training.

Panik, 29, signed with the New York Mets in August this past season and hit .277/.333/.404 with two home runs and 12 RBI in 39 games with them. The left-handed-hitter joined the team after being released by the San Francisco Giants.

The second baseman was non-tendered this offseason by the Mets and he became a free agent at the end of October.
