Here’s one player who won’t see a reunion with the New York Mets… According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, free-agent outfielder Curtis Granderson has reached an agreement with the Toronto Blue Jays on a one-year, $5 million dollar contract. The deal also includes incentives and is pending a physical.

Granderson, who turns 37 in March, batted just .150 with 41 strikeouts in 127 at-bats after being acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers who left him off the World Series Roster. However, he fared much better with the Mets in 2017, batting only .228 but with 19 home runs and posting a .815 OPS.

“It’s the first time that I’ve been moved during the course of a season,” said Granderson after learning he had been traded. “It’s been a great four years here with the Mets organization. All of these guys have been amazing.”

Granderson was in the final year of a four-year, $60 million deal with the Mets and he ended up earning every penny of it, belting 95 home runs and driving in 247 runs while scoring 319. He was also an outstanding leader in the clubhouse and a class act on and off the field.
