Update: 6:00 pm:

The Rangers are out on Dickey, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports and they never offered Mike Olt and pitching prospect Cody Buckel.

The Blue Jays will not trade both center fielder Anthony Gose AND catching prospect Travis D’Arnaud for Dickey,

Matt Cerrone speculates that the Mets must have a good offer from the Blue Jays, however they’re still talking with at least the Angels and Orioles, so the deal isn’t done. Cerrone also is reporting that the Blue Jays are willing to deal J.P. Arencibia and Gose in a deal for Dickey and would prefer Niese for D’Arnaud.

According to MLB Network, one high-ranking executive of a team that pursued Dickey says that he believes Dickey will be traded to Toronto.

The Toronto Blue Jays have pulled into the lead to land Mets starter R.A. Dickey. Andy Martino of the New York Daily News reported on Twitter that trade talks intensified yesterday, and Ken Rosenthal and Jon Heyman are now reporting that the Mets have said they have an acceptable trade offer in hand, but are looking to try and increase the offer if possible.

Mike Puma of the New York Post reports that  the Angels, Orioles and Rangers appear to be the other three teams involved.

The Mets have a strong interest in dealing with the Blue Jays due to their over abundance of catching depth. The Mets prefer Travis D’Arnaud who is the Jays top hitting prospect, batting .333 with 16 home runs, and 52 RBI in 279 AB’s last season. The Blue Jays would like to trade J.P. Arencibia instead, who hit  23 home runs in 2011 and 18 in 2012. The Mets may also have interest in their young center fielder Anthony Gose as well.

ESPNNewyork.com’s Adam Rubin reports that a deal could be done today.
