According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Nationals have signed Asdrubal Cabrera.

Mike Puma of the NY Post reported this afternoon that the Mets were “more open” to a reunion with Cabrera after Robinson Cano’s injury, but the veteran infielder is now heading to the Mets’ division rival.

Cabrera, 33, was released by the Rangers after batting .235/.318/.393 with 12 homeruns and 51 RBI in 93 games.

During his three seasons with the Mets, Cabrera slashed .279/.339/.464 with an .803 OPS and 117 OPS+. The Mets traded the Cabrera to the Phillies in 2018, where he batted .228/.286/.392 in 49 games.
