They say a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words are these videos produced by the Mets worth?
Last season, the Mets thrilled us with this 2010 promotional video which championed the phrase. “We Believe In Comebacks”.
Jason Bay, David Wright, Jeff Francoeur, Frankie Rodriguez, Jerry Manuel, Mike Pelfrey, Daniel Murphy and Johan Santana all appeared in succession for that video, but only two of those eight finished the season on the New York Mets active roster.
This season, the Mew York Mets bring us their latest promotional video for the 2011 campaign.
I wish the Mets would do away with slogans and promotional videos altogether, they almost always come back to bite them on their fannies.
Seriously, how many fans actually ran to the phones to buy season tickets after watching this latest foray into America’s Funniest Home Videos?
If you want to sell tickets, just put a good product on the field and the rest will take care of itself.
It’s always been that way in New York sports.
That said, I had no problem with the vintage Mr. Met videos they used to produce. Not only were those actually funny, but they hit the mark and got their point across in a very cool, Mets-centric kind of way.
Come on, you know that was awesome!
