Mets shortstop Amed Rosario was awarded the Pacific Coast League Rookie of the Year honors on Wednesday, Triple-A Baseball announced.

Rosario, 21, hit .328/.367/.466 with seven long balls and 58 RBI in 94 games for the Las Vegas 51’s before he was called up earlier this month.

The shortstop edged out teammate Dominic Smith for the honors, who had a fantastic season in his own respect, hitting .330/.386/.519 with 16 homers and 76 RBI.

At the time of Rosario’s call-up, his 129 hits were good for second best in the PCL. The No. 2 prospect in baseball according to MLB Pipeline also had three 10+ game hit streaks, including two separate occasions where he hit in 17 straight contests.

Willie Calhoun (Round Rock), Jack Flaherty (Memphis) and Ryan McMahon (Albuquerque) were others to receive votes in addition to Smith.

It is the first time a Las Vegas player has received the award since it was introduced in 1998.
