A New Era of Mets Baseball is Finally Here

Joe Pantorno of amNewYork reports that the deal for Steve Cohen to buy the Mets has closed, it’s a done deal Mets fans. The Wilpons are gone.

Cohen is now the majority owner of the New York Mets. A press conference is likely for Tuesday.

The new Mets owner released the following statement on Friday, “This is a significant milestone in the history of this storied franchise. I want to thank everybody who helped make this happen. The 2021 season is right around the corner and we’ve got a lot of work to do, so I’m excited to get started. Let’s go Mets!”
