In the heat of the moment, I’ve written some horrible things about Aaron Heilman over the years.

However, the truth is that he was a very decent guy. Even when he had his worst moments, you could always find him sitting at his locker and ready to face the music with a very testy media.

He really never fit in with this team in my opinion. It seemed like every Spring Training we had to have that whole “I want to start” opera, and it got pretty old after a while.

I hope he gets his wish to be a starter.

He did give us plenty of clutch performances, but they get drowned out by the few memorable disasters beginning with the infamous 2006 NLCS homerun to Yadier Molina, and ending with the meltdowns en route to two consecutive season ending collapses.
